Masters Students:

Greta Hopf

Greta began pursuing a Master of Science in Chemistry at William & Mary in the fall of 2025. She earned a Bachelor of Science in CHemistry and Biological Sciences from the University of Alabama at Huntsville in 2025. Greta will be working on the sugar quantization project, the proteomics projects, and on interfacing nanoflow LC – nanospray ionization onto the LTQ_Orbitrap.

Undergraduate Students:

Class of 2026

Matthew Cammarata

Matt started in the lab his Junior year and spent the summer of 2025 supported by a W&M honors fellowship. His honor project involves acid-base properties of pipecolic acid containing peptides using the extended kinetic method and density functional theory calculations.

Bennett Clark

Bennett joined the group during his sophomore year and has been working on both the sugar quantification project and on using AMBER to perform simulated annealing studies to identify low-energy conformers of small peptides. His honors project will encompass both of these projects.

Meghan Degrandpre

Meghan joined the lab during her Junior year. She spent the summer of 2025 focusing on the sugar quantification project. Her senior research project will continue this work.

Chloe Gang

Chloe joined the group during her Junior year in the midst of her Instrumental Analysis experience. She spent the second half of the summer of 2025 in the lab working on the sugar project.  She will be continuing this work during her senior year.

Emerson Shultz

Emerson joined the lab in the Fall of 2025. She spent the summer of 2025 working on various aspects of all three projects, but especially the sugar project. She will be continuing working on them during her Senior year.

Class of 2027

Molly Hutchenson

Molly joined the group during her Freshman year. She has been learning to run the instruments and shadowing senior students. and will continue working on the proteomics projects during Junior and Senior years.

Sam Lee

Sam joined the lab during his Freshman year and spent the summer of 2024 resurrecting the nanoflow HPLC/nano-ESI instrument for eventual use in the proteomics projects. He is our resident instrumentation expert and has been vital in maintaining our ancient instruments.

Kat Love

Kat joined the lab during her Freshman year.  She spent the summer of 2025working during the summer of 2025 working on the sugar quantification project and on the proteomics projects. She will continue in those areas during her Junior and Senior years.

Helen Lu

Helen also joined the group during her Freshman year. She is currently working with Matt on the kinetic method project and will be taking the lead on that project during her Senior year. She will be starting her Senior honors project in the Spring of 2026.

Milo Molloy!

Milo is one of our newest group members, joining in the Spring of 2025. He spent the summer of 2025 in the lab working on all three projects and has taken the lead on our collaborative proteomics projects.

Class of 2028

Sophia Carney

Sophia joined the ion lab as a Freshman and has been learning the ropes.  She will spend this year shadowing senior students on the proteomics project.

Caitlin Johnson

Caitlin joined the group during her Freshman year. She is learning the molecular biology protocols for the proteomics projects.
